Brutally consistent and devastatingly good. It will ruin other sushi places for you. - Not much else to say. Needed 85 characters for a post.
We came just a few weeks from their vacation so they were running low on fish, but they were incredibly kind and apologetic and gave us the best experience possible regardless! We came for my birthday dinner and started the meal with complimentary champagne. We asked the chef to choose his best recommendations and he did not disappoint. We chose the crispy rice and ceviche salad, both had great texture and were fresh and delicious. Then the chef started us out with yellowtail crudo which we were blown away by. The sauce with the pink peppercorns was perfection and the fish was so buttery. We also got the toro trio platter and the o-toro was delicious and melts in your mouth. Another favorite was the house handroll, it was an amazing combination of citrus, spicy and savory flavors. We also got the salmon belly, scallop, lobster tail which were all incredibly fresh. We have never had scallop prepared that way so that was a favorite for us. What a great date night spot, and really friendly service as well!
Run don't walk! So fresh so fun! We just walked in and sat at sushi bar, it was like watching a symphony. We tried so many things and everything was better than the next.
The reviews are true- this is an excellent sushi/sashimi experience (it really does feel like an experience and not just a meal). The very best raw fish I've ever eaten & I cannot wait to go back. Everyone that works there was incredibly nice and welcoming, and our server Vina couldn't have done a better job with our first visit. They will explain everything to you & make recommendations. Other restaurants need to learn from Yakuza House! I'll attach photos of most of what we ordered, but I'm missing some photos because we ate it too quickly (mostly nigiri & temaki). Every last bite and sip we had was 10/10. HIGHLY suggest anyone who enjoys a unique but casual dining experience to try this place!
What a wonderful visit! I went with friends for an early Saturday lunch. We sat at the bar and tried a few different small plates and rolls, plus the sake flight of course. The bartender was knowledgeable, friendly, and very welcoming. He informed us about the sake, the various whiskeys, and the food. I've been wanting to try this place and I'm so glad I finally did. We will certainly be back. Thank you!
Our go to sushi spot in Metairie. We literally go once a week. The best nigiri around! The Salmon belly is a must order! We also love the red crab hand roll and spicy karagge. The staff are all great! Very helpful and personable. I love sitting a the hand roll bar for an up close and personal experience, but the bartender is also group with suggesting new specialty cocktails that you can't go wrong sitting at the bar either. It's a super cute too!
Came for the salmon belly nigiri but the Amberjack took the spotlight! Our server was attentive and sweet! The music wasn't too loud so we can still have a conversation. It was a little warm during our meal but, it wasn't too bothersome.
What an exceptional Japanese restaurant about 45 steps from the front door of the Marriott. I decided to sit at the bar and Chris and Jada were awesome people to enjoy the evening with. I tried the Agedashi Tofu and Bao Porkbelly Bun appetizers. Both were very good. The star of the meal was the Bluefin Tuna Flight. Excellent, high-quality nigiri finished at Michelin-star precision. The 3 different levels of fat in the three tuna was such a unique experience. I also tried the butterfish at the bartender's recommendation. It's pricy, but well worth it. Hostess and all staff were friendly and polite. Great atmosphere with sports on 3 TV's over the bar.
Yakuza House 2740 Severn Ave, Metairie, LA 70002 The last time I came to Yakuza House was at the smaller location, which was years ago. As I recalled before, the food is still astronomically delicious! When I stated that everything from start to finish was WOW, it was literally that darn good! If you haven't yet, you gotta swing by this place! 1. Crispy Rice 4 pieces of fried sushi rice with a choice of salmon, tuna or both. Garnished with garlic almond chili oil, spicy kewpie, unagi sauce, and sprouts. 2. Kurobuta Pork Ribs 3 ribs with sweet thai glaze. 3. Tako-yaki 4-pcs - fried octopus balls w/ katsu and kewpie sauce, bonito flakes. 4. Mushroom Udon Carbonara (favorite) shimeji, shiitake, and king mushroom with jidori egg in a garlic butter sauce. 5. Yakido chicken, egg-salad, cabbage, truffle kewpie, mustard & katsu sauce. 6-7. An assortment of Dressed Nigiri that I forgot the name for.... although the taste was out of this world! #Tonylameats #yakuzahousenola #yakuzahousemetairie #nolala #sushi
Heck yes!!!!! I love this place! It was my first time but I can't wait to go back! I tried so much off the menu it was ridiculous. Sweet shrimp dressed nigiri, uni w/quail egg, seared scallop w/foie gras, saltwater eel, freshwater eel, lobster w/miso butter & wasabi tobiko...OMG so yummy! Everything was so fresh and creamy. The ambiance was amazing! Expose enough to people watch yet intimate enough for conversation. Service was on point as well.
